Bozburun

Traditional wooden boatyards, quiet anchorages and one of the least developed stretches of Türkiye’s southwest coast.

The bay

Where wooden gulets are still built

Bozburun is not simply a stop on a gulet route; it is one of the places where the boats themselves are created. Traditional wooden yacht building remains visible along the waterfront and in nearby yards, with skills passed between generations of local craftsmen.

This working identity gives the town a different atmosphere from polished marina resorts. Bozburun is small, low-rise and closely connected to the sea. Restaurants and guesthouses line parts of the bay, but the rhythm still comes from boats, weather and the daily work of the harbour.

Quiet routes through Hisarönü Gulf

The surrounding coastline is among the least developed sections of the Turkish Riviera. Deep bays, rocky headlands and small villages create an itinerary built around calm mornings and unhurried passages. Selimiye, Dirsekbükü, Bencik and the coves toward Datça can all form part of a Bozburun-focused week.

The experience suits guests who value privacy, clear water and local character more than nightlife or large beach clubs. Even in high season, the route can feel removed from the busier ports, especially when the captain chooses smaller anchorages away from the main village piers.

Planning your Bozburun yacht charter

Bozburun is reached by road through Marmaris, approximately 45 kilometres away, and Dalaman is the nearest major airport. Transfer times are longer than for Göcek or Bodrum, but that distance is one reason the peninsula has retained its quiet character. Many charters embark in Marmaris and cruise into the Bozburun Peninsula rather than beginning in the village itself.

May to October is the main season. June and September are particularly rewarding for comfortable weather and quieter shores, while July and August offer the warmest water. We will confirm the most practical embarkation port after matching the route with your yacht.

Share your dates and the pace you prefer, and let us plan a quiet Bozburun gulet charter.
